Tax Accountant
Overview
Some tax roles make you feel like a cog in a compliance machine.
Others give you room to think, grow, and actually matter.
This one sits firmly in the second category.
This is a 25-person, pure tax firm
.
Just real tax work, real clients, and leadership that’s present when you need them.
The culture is deliberately simple:
do good work, help people, treat each other well.
It’s why turnover here is almost non-existent.
ResponsibilitiesWhat the role actually looks like:
You’ll prepare and review returns across individuals, S-Corps, partnerships, trusts, and estates, with a workload that typically sits around a 60% prep / 40% review split
. You’ll work closely with managers and partners who invest in developing their people — not just delegating work. You’ll mentor junior staff, contribute to a genuinely collaborative environment, and be trusted to own your work.
The role starts in-office
, not because of micromanagement, but because learning, mentoring, and influence happen faster face-to-face. After the first year, most of the team works from home two to three days per week
, with start and finish times that flex around life rather than the other way around.
There’s a real path to shareholder
. Every current shareholder grew internally. Two partners are planning retirement within the next five years, with two more following after that. Succession is discussed openly, not quietly avoided.
The client base is varied and engaging — closely held businesses, S-Corps, partnerships, trusts, small estates, and the occasional 990. Typical client revenues run up to around $5M
.
Someone with around 5–6 years of public accounting experience
, comfortable with both preparation and review. Progress toward CPA is preferred — they want you moving forward, not standing still. A steady, collaborative style and genuine pride in producing clean, thoughtful work will go a long way here.
You don’t need to tick every box to reach out.
Applying isn’t a commitment.
It’s just a conversation.
If it feels right, great.
If it doesn’t, you’ll still walk away with more clarity about what you want next.
If you’d like to talk it through or ask a few questions, feel free to call or text me on .
