Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Assistant Controller to support the financial operations of our manufacturing business. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, particularly in managing mid-sized finance teams, and a deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures and inventory accounting.

• Lead and mentor a team of 6+ accounting staff, fostering professional development and high performance.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across departments.
• Manage cost accounting functions including standard costing, overhead allocation, and inventory valuation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external audit requirements.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to align financial reporting with production activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist the Controller in strategic financial planning and decision-making.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
