Role and responsibilitiesThe Property Accountant has primary responsibility for the accurate, timely and complete preparation of all required financial information for an assigned portfolio of properties.
This includes the timely identification and communication of issues relating to their properties, preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, processing data requests/corrections, preparing various accounting statements and reconciliations, drafting property budgets and working with and preparing audit packages for external auditors.
Communicates with on-site property managers, regional property managers to assist in completing property pre-close and close activities, provide accounting support and assist to ensure timely completion of monthly accounting processes.
Qualifications and education- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university strongly preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in Yardi Voyager and other Yardi products
- Multifamily experience highly preferred
- Yardi report writing experience a plus
- Strong Customer Service Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, including the ability to provide technical assistance to complex compliance issues in a simple, straight forward manner
- Self-starter and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to organize & prioritiz e assistance to others
- Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with all levels within a company
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, team player
- Ability to adapt to changes in structures and work priorities
- Intermediate to Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and Yardi
- Knowledge of Property Management and Accounting functions strongly preferred
