Rello Search Partners is recruiting for a Director of
Accounting Operations with our client in Tampa to manage the department and staff. Our client is a private company in the real estate and property management services industry with multiple locations throughout the Tampa Bay area.

This is a high visibility role reporting to the CFO and managing a large accounting department of 30+ staff to include 3-4 direct reports.

** Only local candidates residing in Tampa and able to work onsite for the first 3-6 months then hybrid 3 days onsite will be considered for the position. This is NOT a remote role. **

• Lead, manage, mentor and develop the accounting department consisting of 30+ staff and 3-4 direct reports.
• Provide accurate and timely recording of accounting transaction activities in accordance with US GAAP. This includes the preparation, review, and approval of monthly financial statements and applicable annual attest engagements / tax returns in a timely manner based on established deadlines.
• Responsible for ensuring internal controls are in place according to Corporate requirements.
• Ensure monthly financials prepared by Accountants are reviewed prior to distribution.
• Manage the accounting team performance with a focus on development and training.
• Provide timely information to external auditors to ensure timely completion of attest engagements/tax returns.
• Develop and implement consistent policies, procedures, accounting principles, best practices and reporting requirements throughout the accounting organization and ensures appropriate cross-training.
• Foster collaborative relationships with cross functional stakeholders with a focus on customer service.

• Bachelor degree Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
• CPA license a plus but not required
• 6+ years of direct and relevant experience in accounting
• 2+ years of managing and supervising an accounting department of 6+ staff
• Accounting Services/Government/Not for Profit or Real Estate/Community Management and Grant accounting knowledge highly desired
• Possess exceptional presentation and communication skills both written and verbal
• Some local travel maybe required
