About this job

Pennine Care NHS FT has redesigned its senior leadership structure to strengthen collective leadership.

The collective model of leadership is now embedded throughout the Executive Team, the Networks and the Care Hubs.

At a Network level, the leadership team comprises a Network Director of Transformation and Delivery, a Director of Quality, a Psychological Professionals director and the Network Associate Medical Director/Associate Chief Medical Officer (NAMD/ACMO). The NAMD/ACMO is a senior role reporting directly to the Executive Medical Director/Chief Medical Officer (EMD/CMO) and plays a key role in driving forward our vision to deliver outstanding Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism services and shaping our inclusive culture in line with our Trust values.

The role of NAMD/ACMO for the Mental Health Network has recently become vacant.

The NAMD/ACMO will work in partnership in the Network Leadership team to lead the Network and ensure delivery of its performance, financial, quality and governance requirements.

The Network leadership team will also be responsible for embedding a culture of continuous learning and improvement to deliver high quality patient care and ensure effective use of resources.

The NAMD/ACMO will be an integral part of the Trusts Medical Senior Leadership Team (SLT) team and support Clinical Directors (direct reports), engaging in key regional and local forums supporting other members of the triumvirate.

The NAMD/ACMO will be accountable for the development of service strategies, consistency in standards across the trust, lead specific service transformations, promote clinical leadership, work with members of the SLT to implement the Medical Workforce Strategy, educational objectives, as well as embed principles of QI and EDI thorough all work within the trust.

You will be a highly visible, proactive and compassionate clinical leader with senior management/professional leadership experience.

Acting as a role model and clinical resource, you will ensure the sustained delivery of high standards of medical care and service delivery and have service user and carer Involvement at the heart of everything you do.

You will have an expert knowledge of clinical governance and risk management and a proven record in improving patient safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness.

This is an excellent opportunity to bring your leadership experience to a value-based organisation with big ambitions for those we serve.

The post holder will also hold a clinical post within the organisation (or be applying for one), which will be agreed depending on service needs and the postholders clinical field.

As an example, for a full-time candidate it would be envisaged that the role would comprise a 7PA clinical job with 3 dedicated PAs for leadership work plus a responsibility payment of £22,500. For less than full time applicants specifics would be negotiated with the EMD/CMO. The job plan for the role will be discussed directly with those interested but for discussion about how this can be worked, please contact Simon Sandhu as below.

The role will be based in one of our existing Trust locations within the existing Trust footprint.

Applications are welcome from both external medical staff and those across the whole Trust footprint.

If this role sounds exciting to you and you have the skills and experience described as well as sharing our values then we would welcome your application.

If you wish to discuss this further, please contact Simon Sandhu on  or  (PA, Somia Hussain) to book a mutually convenient time.
