Overview
The post holder will be required to work as part of a team providing high standards of portering in all areas throughout the hospital, following appropriate procedures. The post holder will be required to handle equipment responsibly, and within health and safety guidelines. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining patient, staff and public safety whilst undertaking duties. The post holder is required to work on their own or as part of a team to deliver services as directed by policies and procedures which are monitored by the Portering Supervisor.
The post holder will need to have a friendly and helpful manner and have a sensitive approach when dealing with patients and their families.
- Provide high standards of portering across all hospital areas following appropriate procedures.
- Handle equipment responsibly and in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain patient, staff and public safety while undertaking duties.
- Work independently or as part of a team to deliver services as directed by policies and procedures monitored by the Portering Supervisor.
- Demonstrate a friendly and helpful manner with a sensitive approach when dealing with patients and families.
