April 2026, Ongoing - Long Term position Are you a compassionate and patient SEN Teaching Assistant who's passionate about supporting children with autism?
We're looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and understanding individual to join a specialist unit within a mainstream primary school in the Gorton area
About the Role:
You'll be working with pupils who have a range of additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a nurturing, inclusive environment, supported by a friendly and experienced team of educators.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN (including autism, ADHD, and communication needs)
Assist with classroom activities, tailored learning, and intervention sessions
Collaborate closely with teachers and the SENCo to implement support plans
Encourage and promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence
Follow safeguarding, behaviour management, and school policies at all times
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a SEN TA or supporting children with special educational needs ideally Autism
A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and development
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
