Overview
Our client, a respected educational institution in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-time SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their dynamic team. This rewarding role offers a competitive daily rate of £102, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs (SEN).
Responsibilities- Providing in-class support and targeted intervention to students with SEN, such as those with physical, sensory, cognitive, or behavioural challenges.
- Developing and delivering personalised learning plans, in alignment with the students' Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans or individual needs.
- Fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes the emotional well-being and self-confidence of SEN students.
- Assisting with the adaptation of teaching materials, resources, and learning activities to accommodate the specific needs of SEN students.
- Monitoring and recording the progress of SEN students, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and collaborating with various professionals, such as teachers, therapists, and SEN coordinators, to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to student support.
- Undertaking relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting SEN students.
- To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong passion for working with children and young people, along with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and needs of SEN students.
- Your previous experience in a similar position, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to build positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
- Demonstrate a genuine commitment to inclusivity, equality, and the principles of special educational needs provision.
- Show an ability to think creatively, problem-solve, and adapt your approach to suit the individual needs of each student.
