Senior Science Technician NJC 9 – 11 £ 23,438.44 – £24,202.12 (actual salary)
• 36 hours per week, term time only plus 3 INSET days
• Shift: 7:15am – 3:00pm

The Board of Governors of Audenshaw School wishes to appoint a Senior Science Technician to support our ‘Good’ School (Ofsted March 2023) – a school where pupils are proud to be part of a community that values respect, responsibility and resilience.

As a Senior Science Technician you will work closely with subject leaders and teachers to design, prepare and run engaging practical lessons that foster a love of science. You will also support the development of the science curriculum and help maintain an effective and safe laboratory environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and run practical and laboratory sessions in line with the curriculum.
  • Assist teachers in delivering high‑quality science lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Support pupils, including those with SEND, with positive behaviour and learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science programme and share best practice.
  • Contribute to the school’s inclusive and positive ethos.

Qualifications and

Experience:

  • Laboratory experience and sound knowledge of science up to GCSE.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a purposeful team.
  • Commitment to encouraging every child to reach their full potential.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is desirable.
