£95–£110 per day | Long-term | Full-time (Part-time considered) Smile Education is looking for passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join supportive and inclusive primary school settings across Tameside, Greater Manchester. If you are patient, resilient, and committed to helping children with additional needs thrive, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference every day.

About the Role

You will support pupils across KS1 and KS2, working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and specialist staff to ensure every child can access learning and reach their full potential. Your support may include working 1:1 or with small groups of pupils. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in nurturing environments and understands the importance of consistency, empathy, and structure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality support within a primary setting
  • Support pupils to engage with the curriculum
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Promote communication development and speech & language skills
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification – preferred
  • Experience in mainstream primary schools, SEND/SEN settings or SRPs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, resilient, and child-centred approach
  • Confidence supporting pupils
