Position: Social Worker - Children in Care (CIC) Team Sanctuary Personal

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to progress your social work career within a dedicated Children in Care (CIC) Team. As a Social Worker, you will play a key role in improving outcomes for children and young people who are looked after, ensuring their safety, stability, wellbeing, and long-term positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload of children and young people who are looked after, ensuring effective assessment, planning, intervention, and review.
  • Developing and implementing robust Care Plans, Pathway Plans, and Permanence Plans that promote stability, emotional wellbeing, and positive long-term outcomes.
  • Acting as the lead professional for children in care, coordinating multi-agency involvement and ensuring statutory timescales are met.
  • Building meaningful relationships with children and young people, ensuring their wishes, feelings, and lived experiences inform all decision-making.
  • Working collaboratively with foster carers, residential staff, and placement providers to promote placement stability.
  • Preparing high-quality assessments, care plans, reports, and court documentation, including reports for Looked After Reviews and legal proceedings.
  • Attending and contributing to Looked After Reviews, Child Protection Conferences (where applicable), court hearings, and multi-agency meetings.
  • Supporting children and young people through key transitions, including placement moves, permanence planning, and preparation for independence.
  • Identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate risk assessment and multi-agency intervention.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with council policies and data protection requirements.
  • Participating in supervision, team meetings, training, and continuous professional development.
  • Contributing to service development, quality assurance activity, and inspection preparation as required.
Person Specification
  • We are seeking candidates who have:
  • A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children in care within a statutory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and related statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and care planning skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and partner agencies.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, child-centred practice, and continuous professional development.
  • Flexible Part-Time and Full-Time working options.
  • Competitive hourly rate of £39.00.
