An exciting opportunity is available for a committed, professional candidate to apply for the post of Receptionist within the Radiology department at North Manchester hospital, and our services based at CDC sites.
This will be a rotational role for those interested in working full-time as we expand our services from 8AM - 8PM for 7 days a week.
You will have an important part to play in supporting the clinical teams to deliver good care to our patients, and therefore must be confident working both on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Main duties of the job- Process patients on Trust systems within specific timescales.
- Greet patients on attendance and check patient details to ensure correct identification.
- Deal with queries, sign‑post patients and visitors to relevant areas.
- Provide a professional and welcoming reception service for all patients and visitors.
- Deal with all incoming mail, ensuring timely distribution.
- Attend patients on the Trust IT systems in keeping with departmental and Trust policies.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and correct identification of patients attending for examinations.
- Communicate delays to patients e.g. room closures / trauma liaising with clinician staff to make informed decisions.
- Ensure patients are comfortable e.g. cold and provide blankets.
- Deal with ambulance bookings (arrivals and departures) ensuring escalation process is followed in the event of long waits.
- Ensure patients and visitors are seated in the correct waiting areas and relevant persons notified if applicable.
- Deal with all telephone enquiries in a polite and courteous manner.
- Keep the reception areas clean, tidy and welcoming at all times.
- Maintain an accurate and efficient administrative system for all clinical records and appointments.
- Input data onto the Trust systems and maintain diaries.
- Perform any other admin duties as required.
- Make appointments as required and per local policies and procedures.
- General education to GCSE standard or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience dealing with public ideally in a receptionist role.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Previous NHS experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills and ICT knowledge.
- Ability to prioritise.
- Good organisational skills.
- Advanced keyboard skills.
- Knowledge of a range of administrative duties.
- Confidentiality.
- Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of a range of software packages.
