Private Duty Nurse
Haven Home Care | $18/Hour + Paid Travel Between Clients
The Short Version
You have an STNA license. We pay $18/hour. You could start working this week.
We pay you for drive time between clients. Most places don't do this.
You pick your limits. No smokers? We won't give you smokers. Can't drive far? We won't send you far. You set the rules. We follow them.
We’ve been around since 1998. We’re a small local company in Ohio.
Where we need help:
Akron, Barberton, Copley, Cuyahoga Falls, Hartville, Hudson, Kent, New Franklin, Norton, Rootstown, Silver Lake, Stow, Tallmadge, and Uniontown.
About service areas:
We match clients based on how far you’re willing to travel, not just city names. If you say you can travel 30 minutes, we may assign clients anywhere within that 30-minute range.
All STNAs Welcome – Where Are You Starting From?
Just passed your state test? We love working with new STNAs. You have fresh training. We give you real‑world experience. Many agencies want "experienced only." We don’t. Your active license is all we need.
Experienced and ready for better? Tired of agencies that ignore your limits? Sick of forced overtime? You’ve earned the right to choose. Bring your experience. We’ll match you with clients who fit your life.
Coming back after time off? Been away for months or years? As long as your Ohio STNA license is active, you’re welcome here. We’ll help you ease back in.
Why People Like Working Here$18/hour for all your work time, including driving between clients
$20/hour if you bring us a private pay client and work with them
No forced overtime. Max 40 hours a week.
Same clients every week. You build real friendships.
You work alone. No boss watching you all day.
You pick your limits. Pets, smoking, travel distance. We follow your rules.
$100 bonus after 30 days if you show up on time to every shift.
10% extra on holidays. That’s $19.80/hour.
What You DoYou help people in their homes. Mostly older adults.
You help with:
- Baths and getting dressed
- Making meals
- Light cleaning
- Running errands
- Keeping them company
This job is physical. You help people move around. You stand most of the time. If you need help doing these things, tell us. We can talk about what might work.
You do NOT give medicine. You do NOT do medical stuff. That’s for nurses.
What You Need- Active STNA license in Ohio
- Driver’s license
- Your own car with insurance
- Pass background checks
- Can work at least 20 hours a week
- Available between 6 AM and 8 PM (most work is 8 AM‑5 PM)
How fast you start depends on two things:
- How fast you finish the steps. Every day you wait pushes your start date back.
- How open your limits are. If you say yes to most things (pets, smoking, travel), we can match you fast. If you say no to a lot, you wait longer for the right client.
We had one STNA apply Monday, finish Tuesday, and work her first shift Wednesday. That fast is possible.
How to Get HiredTimeline: 3‑5 days if you move fast.
Bring Your Own ClientsKnow someone who needs home care? You can refer them to us.
You can refer:
- Friends or neighbors
- Family members (like your own parents)
- Anyone you know who needs help at home
If they sign up and you work with them, you get bonuses AND you get to care for someone you already know.
For clients on Medicaid waiver programs:
You earn your regular $18/hour working with them. Plus you get a $100 bonus after they’ve been a client for 1 month.
For private pay clients:
You earn $20/hour instead of $18/hour when working with them. Plus you get a bonus based on their hours. The more hours they need, the bigger the bonus. Bonuses range from $75 to $1,500.
We can talk about the details during your phone interview.
What We Don’t HaveNo PTO. Time off is unpaid. Give us 1 month notice.
No 401k. No health insurance.
We’re a small company. We can’t afford these things.
No career ladder. This is a caregiving job. It stays a caregiving job. What grows is your relationships with clients and your paycheck through bonuses and referrals.
