Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Verifies shipments received to orders placed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Records amount of materials or items received or distributed.
  • May operate a forklift when necessary.
  • Assists in keeping the warehouse clean or other areas as assigned.
Level of Responsibility
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Assignments received with set guidelines, organizes own work, and sets own processes.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift Experience required.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • May be required to operate a forklift and maintain the forklift certification throughout employment.
Other Requirements

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
