Job Summary
Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning duties to maintain the cleanliness of the facility, maintaining supplies, and inspecting the building for needed repairs.
Job Duties- Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, and other work areas.
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Dusts furniture and equipment.
- Polishes metalwork.
- Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
- Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.
- Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
- Replenishes bathroom supplies.
- Replaces light bulbs.
- Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
- Sets up tables and chairs in auditorium or hall.
- Maintains orderliness of the supply room by placing articles in assigned areas.
- Inspects and disposes of litter from grounds.
- Informs supervisor of supply shortages and picks up supplies as instructed.
- Routinely inspects the structure for needed repairs and reports any findings to the supervisor.
- For Food Distribution Only:
Travels to all stores to do specialty cleaning such as waxing, stripping floors, and shampooing carpets. - Other duties may be assigned.
No supervisory responsibilities are required.
Qualifications Education RequirementHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (For Food Distribution Only)Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Must possess the skills to make small routine repairs to the structure.
Other QualificationsEmployee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
