Position SnapshotJoin our team as an Associate Professor of Chemistry
, where you will play a vital role in educating and inspiring the next generation of scientists. In this position, you will collaborate with faculty colleagues to develop and teach innovative chemistry courses that engage and challenge students. You will design meaningful learning experiences, create high‑quality instructional resources, and continuously refine course delivery to uphold academic excellence. Additionally, you will contribute to the advancement of teaching practices and support student success through mentorship and academic leadership.
As a valued member of the chemistry faculty, you will help cultivate a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that prepares students for careers and further study.
- Instruction of community college chemistry courses with an emphasis in the majors general chemistry sequence
- Teaching assignment schedule may include days and evenings, and delivering instruction utilizing multiple modalities including in‑person on campus, online, and hybrid.
- Participate in division meetings and serve on campus committees.
- Hold five (5) hours per week of scheduled office hour time to meet with students.
- Participate in the evaluation of materials and the development of outlines for courses taught to include student learning outcomes for each course.
- Maintain an inventory of equipment and chemicals used.
- Complete reports, schedules, evaluations, and grades within established guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Min:
Master’s in Chemistry.
OR
Bachelor's in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
AND
Master's in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Physics, Molecular Biology, or Geochemistry OR the equivalent.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Hours And CompensationThis is a full‑time, 10‑month per year (175 days) position at 35 hours per week. The anticipated starting salary range is $66,875 - $98,797 per year. The successful applicant will be offered a starting salary within this range commensurate with qualifications and experience. An annual doctoral stipend of $5,040.31 is included in addition to the salary when appropriate.
