Teaching Assistant (SEMH & ASC Focus)

Location: Tadworth Contract: Full-Time (36 hours per week), Term-Time Only Salary: Competitive Urgency: Immediate Start Available

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our specialist team in Tadworth
. This role is set within a well-regarded educational trust that focuses on supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

This is more than just a classroom role; it is an opportunity to provide the stability and support these students need to thrive academically and emotionally.

Your Core Responsibilities
  • Direct Pupil Support: Work 1:1 or in small groups to help students engage with their learning and manage their emotions.

  • Collaboration: Partner with Class Teachers to implement bespoke lesson plans and educational activities.

  • Progress Tracking: Monitor student milestones and assist with essential assessment records.

  • Environment Building: Help maintain a positive, safe, and organised learning space tailored to sensory and emotional needs.

Candidate Requirements

To excel in this environment, you will need:

  • Education: GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children (SEMH experience is highly desirable).

  • Personality: A calm, reassuring, and responsive nature. You must be able to remain composed in challenging situations.

  • Communication: Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with students.
