Compensation & Schedule

* Starting Pay:
Starting wage is $30.49/hour, which is 91% of the full union scale. Full scale is $33.51/hour, as outlined in the Teamsters Local 313 collective bargaining agreement.

* Schedule:

Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays as needed

* Hours:

Approximately 45 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

* Safely operate a rear-load garbage truck along designated routes

* Collect refuse and recyclables according to route sheets

* Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance

* Operate hydraulic controls to lift and dispose of waste

* Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers

* Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, pushing, and pulling items over 100 lbs

Working Conditions

* Outdoor work in varying weather conditions

* Exposure to mechanical parts, moderate noise, and occasional fumes

* Frequent heavy lifting and adherence to strict safety protocols

Minimum Requirements

* Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement (Class A not required)

* Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in waste management, trucking, or heavy equipment operation, and must not have held more than three jobs in the past five years.

* Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred

* Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections
