EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Temporary, Full-time, Non-Exempt
Career TEAM is looking for a high-energy, service-driven Career Advisor to serve Adult and Dislocated Workers in Pierce County by helping them connect to employment and training opportunities. This role focuses on career counseling, intensive and case management, and follow-up services to help job seekers obtain livable wage employment. The ideal candidate can work autonomously and strengthen partnerships with existing partners.
Work will be performed under the WIOA program under the Pierce County Work Source umbrella, supervised by the Team Lead. We welcome applicants who are inspired to serve the community and bring a strong work ethic. Experience is not mandatory, but character is.

Your Impact on Career TEAM’s Success:
- Provide services to registered customers within the One-Stop system
- Become a subject matter expert on labor market and career trends
- Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce program; assess jobseekers’ employment and training needs and abilities through interviewing, testing, and other methods
- Enter data into and process clients through required participant information systems and databases
- Guide jobseekers through the preparation of Individual Employment Plans (IEP) based on their occupational goals
- Counsel clients on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services
- Complete Individual Training Account (ITA) vouchers and other documents for clients entering training
- Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs or job opportunities and follow up on those activities
- Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs and other group presentations
- Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation; ensure case files contain required documents
- Maintain accurate case files for each registered customer, ensuring compliance
- Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, businesses, and community host sites
- Develop and implement strategies to increase work experience participation and engagement among career advisors
- Coordinate activities with marketing for outreach and engagement
- Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks
- Participate in staff events, trainings, meetings, and supervision as required
- Complete all required reports
- Approach each day with initiative and a proactive mindset
- Other duties and projects as needed
To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have:
- 2+ years of work experience combining elements of training, counseling, case management, or related services
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks
- Experience with outreach and partnership building
- Proficiency in data entry and exceptional attention to detail
- Substantial case management experience and the ability to read and interpret policies
- Ability to work in diverse settings with a culturally diverse client base and be culturally sensitive
- Ability to serve as a role model and motivate clients toward goal achievement
- PC literacy, including Internet, e-mail, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to meet and/or exceed goals and objectives
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written)
- Valid Driver’s License
Additional Skills/Knowledge Career TEAM Would Love for This Role:
