We are partnering with our Puget Sound, WA lumber and millworks client to recruit an Outside Sales Representative to contribute to large-scale growth of the South Sound region. In this role, you will be responsible for selling a variety of lumber products and services to contractors and builders. You will be the subject‑matter expert on the company’s wide array of materials, building products and solutions, and will spend your days identifying new clients, servicing existing accounts, and traveling throughout the South Puget Sound area to visit clients in-person.

This role requires sales experience in a relevant industry, so building materials, lumber, construction or similar, and the ideal candidate has dedicated experience and standing relationships with construction, building and contracting firms in this area. You will be an ideal fit if you bring 2+ years of dedicated, outside sales experience and success selling building materials, lumber or similar products to contractors and construction organizations.

This is a flexible, trusting team that will empower you to own your days! You will spend 90% of your time in the field, visiting with clients, builders and contractors in and around Olympia, Tacoma, Fife and surrounding, with occasional touchpoints at the office for meetings, collaboration, etc. You will also be supported in order management work by a wonderful, nuanced sales support team who will allow you to spend your time closing business.

This is a salaried role with uncapped commissions potential. Base ranges from $70,000 to $85,000 annually, but there is flexibility up for industry expertise. Total OTE for the first few years ranges up from $150,000 annually. Benefits include medical, dental and vision options, two weeks of PTO with additional accruals in annual tenure, sick time a accruing at the WA state rate, 4019K) with employer match, profit sharing and other unique perks.

The company will also offer a company vehicle OR a monthly car stipend.

You will:

  • Serve as a lumber and building materials sales expert and contact for current and potential clients in the contracting, building and construction industries
  • Conduct full‑cycle sales outreach with a focus on in‑person meetings and opportunity, actively targeting new accounts in the South Sound region and creating new opportunity with existing relationships
  • Follow up on hot, warm and cold leads, providing customer education, product line expertise and upselling opportunity that positions this brand as a one‑stop shop for these products
  • Maintain detailed customer files, records and KPIs in their CRM
  • Drive new opportunity through networking, upselling, consistent customer outreach and more

Your experience should include:

  • 2+ years of experience selling construction, building materials, lumber products or similar to contractors, builders and construction companies
  • Strong CRM experience
  • Outside, territory or field sales experience with a comfort conducting cold calls and in‑person meetings throughout the South Sound region
  • Passion for business growth and financial motivation
  • Existing relationships and contacts in the construction and building industry in the South Sound region, highly preferred
