Announcement conjunction with the JBLM NAF HR Office Job Fair at the Eagles Pride Golf Course in Dupont, WA on Tuesday, 03 February 2026 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
This position is located at American Lake Conference Center.
Incentives and Bonuses- Incentives will not be paid.
- Prepares and cooks a variety of foods and desserts according to menu requirements with or without the assistance of another cook/supervisor;
Takes food from prep area to refrigerators or serving area;
Monitor inventory and rotating food inventories. - Follows recipes to prepare food items and adjusts recipes for larger or smaller quantities and portions out food for family style and plate service;
Prepares vegetables and cold food dishes;
Make a variety of salads, salad dressings, sandwiches. - Roasts a variety of meats such as beef, pork, veal, lamb, fish, and poultry;
Grills and deep fries foods;
Broils and steams foods;
Slices meat by hand and by mechanical means, to specific requirements. - Follows health and safety precautions to ensure safe preparation and storage of food items;
Operates kitchen equipment designed to mix and cook food items;
Uses, cleans and maintains power kitchen equipment. - Monitors and maintains appropriate temperature of all food items throughout preparation and service;
Keeps working area and cooking utensils cleaned and ready for use in accordance with standard sanitation requirements;
Maintains personal hygiene. - Performs other duties as assigned.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.
2 to include a medical examination. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical is required. - Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
- Must be willing and able to work a schedule that includes working some nights, weekends, and possible holidays.
- Physical Effort:
Must be able to lift or move objects 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing over 40 pounds with the assistance of other workers or lifting devices. - Working Conditions:
Exposed to steam, fumes, odors from cooking, and to extreme temperature changes when entering walk-in refrigerators or freezing units. Must stand on tile floor. Subject to burns, cuts, and slipping on wet floors.
