Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong OR and robotic experience in a high-volume environment.

• Position is based in a hospital Operating Room (OR) with 20 OR rooms, including specialized CVOR and general surgery suites
• Patient population includes cardiac, neuro, ortho, trauma, general surgery, GYN, GI, GU, and outpatient cases
• Uses Epic for charting, with Pyxis and Alaris equipment in use
• Scheduled for four 8-hour evening shifts per week, with a set pattern of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
• Travelers participate in trauma call and may float to general surgery as needed
• Robotic surgeries include GYN, general, and urology cases using XI machine
• Experience with trauma, neuro, and ortho surgeries during night shift is required, especially with blood administration and specialized procedures
• Main responsibilities include scrubbing and/or circulating for a broad range of surgical cases
• Travelers will be assigned to trauma call unless demonstrating strong CVOR or pediatric skills
• Travelers participate in trauma call rotations, approximately 3 shifts per 6-week schedule
• No transplants, burns, or adult ophthalmology cases
• Pediatric experience is not required; pediatric OR is currently closed for renovations
• Up to 5 days of requested time off may be approved

• Active WA or compact state RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year strong OR experience required
• Robotic surgery experience is required
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Comfortable with circulating and/or scrubbing for cases
• Must respond within 30 minutes for call assignments
• First-time travelers accepted with strong OR experience
