Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Registered Nurse - Med Surg to work at a Facility in Tacoma, WA
. These are registry positions with our company.
Pay Rate: $53 / hour
Employment: W2
Qualifications- At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse - Med Surg in an acute care setting
- Associate's degree in nursing (ASN)
- One year of experience in nursing
- Current unrestricted RN license in one of the 50 US States and/or territories
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- US Citizen
- National Association of Clinical Investigators (NACI) background check
- Obtains patient history, pertinent family history, and advanced medical directive information. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress; assists physicians during treatments and examinations.
- Administers medication and prescribed treatments, completes admissions and discharges, promotes convalescence and rehabilitation, and monitors and interprets data collected by LVNs and unlicensed assisted personnel to inform the medical staff.
- Functions as a patient advocate. Assesses patient/family knowledge level, develops and implements instruction plans, and documents demonstrated levels of understanding.
- Assesses the patient and plans appropriate nursing care. Documents care in the patient’s medical record along with progress.
- Develops and manages nursing care plans; instructs patients and families in proper care and supports individuals and groups to improve or maintain health.
- Communicates pertinent patient information to charge nurse and/or physician as appropriate.
- Verifies transcription of physician orders. Administers medications and blood products with knowledge of actions and usual dosages of commonly used drugs.
- Administers medications within scope of practice via IV, subcutaneous, oral, transdermal, rectal, and intramuscular routes.
- Performs direct patient care procedures including but not limited to range of motion, clothing and feeding patients.
- Manages care of patients for advanced procedures with high infection risk and where bodily functions are mechanically assisted by life support equipment.
- Ensures proper procedures with tissue/skin bank and blood bank.
- Plans and implements care collaboratively with other healthcare providers; reports to the appropriate unit/ward and provides data such as surgical procedures performed, patient problems, nursing diagnosis, actions, patient response, specialized care, and necessary equipment.
- HCWs will be required to float within similar specialties.
