Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - RN

Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tacoma, WA seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing. The individual will possess interpersonal and supervisory skills and an understanding of Skilled Nursing, and be responsible for coordinating, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the nursing service department and its programs in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing care facilities.

• Directly responsible for overseeing the Unit Manager on each unit and ensuring completion of assigned responsibilities and resolution of identified resident care issues and concerns.
• Infection Control‑monitor and ensure the recording of infections, analysis of data, determination of trends and potential causes, and work with the Facility Educator to develop education and training as indicated.
• Participate in facility surveys conducted by authorized government agencies as necessary.
• Assist with determining and monitoring the staffing needs of the nursing department and ensure assignment of adequate nursing staff daily for each shift to meet resident needs.
• Assist in annual review of all nursing services policies and procedures.
• Assist with interviewing and selection of Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants with the Director of Nursing and Administrator’s approval.
• Assist with completion of yearly written evaluations of nurses and nurse aides.
• Ensure medical and nursing care is administered in accordance with the resident’s wishes and individualized care plan.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in Good Standing
• 1 year in a Skilled Nursing Facility
• 2 years in Nursing
