Location: Tacoma, WA
Position Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $28-$34 per hour (DOE)
Saxon is hiring a Molding Technician for a direct hire role supporting an injection molding production environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and consistent molding operations while meeting quality and production standards.
Shift Schedule
- Training: Day shift
- Regular Assignment: 2nd shift after training completion
- Start, restart, and sustain injection molding jobs with minimal scrap
- Adjust processing parameters to maintain part quality and consistency
- Perform mold setup and teardown across multiple injection molding machines
- Set up and verify auxiliary equipment (dryers, heaters, hot runners, robots, conveyors, etc.)
- Perform complete material purges between resin changes
- Identify and address quality issues while following safety and quality standards
- Accurately report labor, scrap, and production data using ERP systems
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow 5S practices
- Support production needs, including coverage during breaks or staffing shortages
- Hands-on injection molding experience required
- Knowledge of molds, resins, hot runners, dryers, and automation
- Mechanical aptitude with basic to intermediate math skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
- Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented
- Stand for extended periods (10-12 hours per shift)
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Perform detailed visual inspections to high cosmetic standards
