Operations Manager

The CASToHN Companies are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Head of Operations to lead and optimize our multi‑plant concrete manufacturing and distribution operations across Washington, Texas, and California.
This is a senior leadership role for a proven operator who thrives in complex environments, eliminates inefficiencies, and builds durable systems that scale. The plant and distribution personnel will report to you, and you will report to CASToHN's General Manager and Ownership. Your ultimate mission: reduce production losses to 5–10% while developing world‑class teams, processes, and facilities.

This includes hardscape and landscape elements such as pavers, steps, sills, wall caps, fire pits, and more. We take pride in offering top‑quality products supported by best‑in‑industry service.
Responsibilities- Isolate operation signals while filtering noise by quantifying and ruthlessly prioritizing production problems.
- Create systems and processes that eliminate human single‑points‑of‑failure.
- Bring state‑of‑the‑art concrete knowledge, especially in aesthetic/wet‑cast precast concrete, with a desire to always be learning more.
- Be the voice of the production team at executive meetings.
- Define and maintain a system for identifying which products are causing the greatest losses and why.
- Own the appearance, cleanliness, safety, and operability of our manufacturing and distribution facilities.
- Intelligently control expenses, balancing quality with profitability.
- Represent CASToHN to regulators and respond to external claims/concerns.
- Develop his/her direct reports in and beyond their current roles with succession planning in mind.
- Balance inventory with sales demand.
- Plan mold inventory at each plant.
- Manage on and off road fleets.
- Proven senior operations leadership in manufacturing (concrete, precast, building materials, or adjacent industries strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated success reducing waste, losses, and inefficiencies at scale.
- Strong systems thinker who thrives in ambiguity and complexity.
- Confident executive communicator with frontline credibility.
- Willingness to travel and be present in plants, not just meetings.
- Travel 1–2 weeks per month to Texas
- Travel occasionally to California
- Valid Driver's License
- Forklift Certified / Ability to be Forklift Certified
- Ability to lift at least 100lbs
- Ability to confidently and efficiently navigate through tight spaces, over uneven ground, and around moving obstacles.
