Location: Tacoma, WA
Starting Pay: $33.00 HRLY
Shift: Day Shift, 6 am-2:30 pm, Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking a skilled Machinist II to join our team in Tacoma. A successful candidate will be adept at reading drawings, blueprints, and specifications, fabricating parts to required dimensions and tolerances, and processing raw materials into finished parts.

• Read and understand drawings and blueprints; fabricate parts to .0002"-.0005" tolerance.
• Proficient at compound tapers, tool grinding for form cutting and sharpening.
• Proficient using bed mills and knee mills with bars, plates, magnetic chucks, and dividing heads.
• Operate manual vertical Bridgeport‑style mills, lathes, and surface grinders to manufacture components.
• Apply strong mathematical knowledge, machine shop math, geometry, trigonometry, and vector point calculations for precise part manufacturing.
• Assemble and disassemble complex tooling.
• Check machines for correct alignment and setup.
• Dress grinding wheels and tools as required.
• Measure component and part dimensions with various measuring tools.
• Calibrate and maintain measuring tools.
• Perform maintenance to ensure proper machine function.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Lead and instruct others in proper machine use.
• Cooperate in a team atmosphere and maintain a safe, clean workstation.
• Proficient with Machinery’s Hand Book.
• Work with a range of materials and perform bench work.
• Proficient with all support equipment including bandsaw, vertical and horizontal single‑point tool sharpener, twist drill sharpener, pedestal grinders, and hand polishing tools.

• Associate’s degree in a technical field and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a machine manufacturing role, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand engineering technical drawings and prints.
• Advanced component and part measuring skills (dial calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, gauge blocks, GDT).
• Advanced manual machining and CNC skills.
• Strong mechanical machine systems understanding (bearings, gears, cams, slides, drives, tooling, pneumatic/hydraulic systems).
• CNC programming skills via machine interface and external software.
• Solid Works, Solid
  
  CAM, AutoCAD, and vector point programming inputs is a plus but not required.
• Basic electrical and pneumatic machine control understanding.
• Ability to interface with diverse backgrounds at various organizational levels.
• Familiarity with TPM, preventative maintenance, and improvement techniques.
• Strong communication skills and detail orientation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft products is a plus.
• Knowledge of window production machinery is a plus but not required.
