Production Technician

Job Overview

Production Technician position in the Bulk Atmospheric Gases (BAG) Production Technology team ensures safe and reliable operation of the Fife Air Separation Plant. Candidates work in a team environment, empowered to set priorities and complete activities with minimal supervision.

Successful candidates must understand the principles of the Hazardous Work Permit, Lock Out Tag Out, and compliance with all Government and Linde Environmental Permits, Regulations and Policies. This full‑time position is located in Fife, Washington and requires an on‑call rotation after approximately eight months.

• Follow safe work permit processes, policies and procedures
• Assist in the training and development of new employees
• Understand Production KPIs and work toward achieving these goals
• Understand the theoretical aspects of the process and adjust controls toward achieving desired flows, pressures, and purities
• Ensure customer quality requirements are met for all products: maintain Quality Program
• Understand and monitor equipment efficiency: cooler approaches, water temperature rise, and unit efficiency
• Understand P& control loop input‑output logic
• Follow all SMP, SOP, COP, OSS, and OPS alerts and Technical Bulletins
• Resolve fill zone and backup system issues
• Ensure analyzer parameters (reference gas flows, product gas flows) are within operational limits
• Conduct water tests on cooling tower and boilers and adjust controls as necessary
• Maintain building and grounds equipment
• Monitor and communicate contractor activities in all areas covered above when required
• Complete all LMS training modules and on‑the‑job training within the assigned timeline

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Associate’s in Applied Sciences or equivalent apprenticeship preferred
• Previous experience in a continuous chemical operation environment
• Motivated, self‑starter capable of effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities
• Relevant computer and technical skills
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in tight and closed spaces
• Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment

Pay commensurate with experience. Open to salary range $62,948 – $92,323.
