A well-established and expanding residential real estate company in Tacoma, WA is seeking a hands‑on, strategic Assistant Controller to support a growing multifamily portfolio (80–90 properties and counting). This is a high‑impact leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, property‑focused environment and enjoys both team leadership and roll‑up‑your‑sleeves accounting.

• Lead and manage the accounting team, including remote staff
• Oversee full‑cycle property management accounting
• Drive Month/Quarter/Year‑end close processes
• Maintain General Ledger oversight and review journal entries
• Review P&Ls and prepare financial statements
• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts
• Oversee bank reconciliations and external payroll vendor
• Manage insurance and tax reporting processes
• Partner closely with high‑touch property management clients
• Support onboarding of new properties and continued portfolio growth

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
• Property management or real estate accounting background
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
• Yardi Voyager experience required
• Strong GAAP knowledge
• Strong organizational and communication skills
