Overview
The City of Tacoma Environmental Services Department, Asset Management and Technology Services Division is accepting applications for a Technology Manager. The Technology Manager is responsible for leading information technology projects that support the business needs of the department’s 500+ employees.

Key Responsibilities- Leading a team responsible for:
- Providing IT project management to facilitate the development and implementation of software applications that support the department’s business processes. This includes working with end users, third-party vendors, and application developers to ensure deliverables meet the project objectives.
- Maintaining and developing digital twins for the treatment plants and collections systems.
- Developing and maintaining predictive data models and other data analytics tools to support data-driven decision making.
- Maintaining and updating data (including data quality control) for the Environmental Services Department GIS database.
- Identifying and monitoring progress toward project goals.
- Collaborating with departments, leadership, and governance bodies to prioritize work, intake requests, and ensure alignment with citywide goals
- Managing competitive bid processes, RFPs and RFQs.
- Managing consultants and vendors.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a directly related field AND 6 years of progressively responsible information technology and project management experience in the area of assignment, including 1 year as a technology supervisor, manager, or subject-matter expert.
Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education
Licensing, Certifications and Other RequirementsAs Assigned:
Some assignments may require a Washington State Driver's License
