Pierce County Library System Custodian Lakewood/Tillicum/Dupont

This is a Custodian position that covers Lakewood, DuPont, and Tillicum Libraries, during the scheduled hours. Travel between all locations is required. In addition to per hour wages, individuals using personal vehicles for work travel will also receive mileage reimbursement per policy at current rates when traveling between assigned branches during shifts.

During the application the schedule is indicated as Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, with travel between these locations daily.

$20.51 - $23.78 per hour;
Pay Grade Range: $20.51 - $28.40 per hour

Pierce County Library System offers a compensation program which recognizes qualifications and experience relevant to each position. The starting pay is established typically within the hiring range below based upon the experience of the individual hired into the role. Our compensation package also includes annual increases for each additional year of experience and tenure in the role, up to the maximum (current year maximum outlined in pay grade range above).

Eligibility for overtime is exclusive to positions which are FLSA status non-exempt below.

This is a Custodian position provides coverage for PCLS locations during the shift times below. Use of a PCLS fleet vehicle may be provided when available, for use for work travel between assigned worksites during some shifts. The anticipated coverage of this role could float to any of 19 PCLS branch locations (travel to Anderson Island is not assigned). In addition to per hour wages, individuals using personal vehicles for work travel will also receive reimbursement per policy at current rates when traveling between assigned branches during shifts.

Performs a variety of routine custodial functions for the Pierce County Library System; cleans and maintains assigned buildings, facilities, and/or office areas; and performs other related duties as assigned. This class is the entry-level position in the Custodial job series. Positions at this level work under close supervision and perform basic custodial tasks.

• Delivers high-quality, customer-focused services.
• Disinfects, cleans, and maintains restroom facilities including toilets, urinals, sanitary containers, sinks, doors, mirrors, and fixtures; restocks paper products.
• Cleans library, offices, work areas, meeting rooms, study rooms, coffee bars, and/or the staff lunch room.
• Sanitizes drinking fountains, kitchen sinks, counter tops, microwaves, table tops, and desks.
• Vacuums, sweeps, mops, and cleans hard surface floors; spot cleans carpets.
• Dusts fixtures, furniture, and other hard surface areas.
• Cleans internal and external building windows.
• Empties trash cans and recycling bins; disposes of trash in outside holding bins.
