Job HighlightsL&I Investigations Program is looking for an Investigator
3. This role supports the mission of the Investigations Program, focusing on identifying, combating, and preventing fraud, theft, abuse, and violations under the Industrial Insurance Act and other statutory authorities.
- Manage, organize, document, and complete a caseload of investigative assignments in accordance with established priorities and quality standards.
- Gather facts and develop evidence to substantiate allegations of fraud, misconduct, or unfair business practices.
- Analyze, focus, resolve, and report on relevant investigation issues employing a full range of investigative methods.
- Conduct surveillance and in‑person interviews to gather statements and other pertinent information.
- Research and obtain records and documentation relevant to the investigation.
- Adhere to legal requirements and prepare, obtain, issue, and serve legal documents and warrants.
- Present completed investigations to fraud adjudicators, prosecutors, and attorneys and testify in court and administrative hearings.
- Coordinate investigative resources with internal and external agencies and organizations.
- Required:
2 years of experience as an Investigator 2 or a criminal investigation degree from a 60‑credit two‑year program. - OR 5 years of experience as an investigator in a government agency or private organization, with at least 3 years of field experience.
- Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver license.
- Criminal Investigation degree from a 60‑credit two‑year program.
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, forensic science, or a closely related field.
Field position; travel required; flexible custom work schedules at the time of offer. Assigned duty station:
Tacoma, WA.
