At Aertssen Logistics USA Inc. we are paving the future of heavy machinery logistics with innovative solutions that push the boundaries of efficiency and reliability. After a hugely successful launch in Savannah, GA, the Aertssen Group is expanding to Tacoma, Washington, following the rapid growth of our first U.S. location. The company is building a new 250,000‑square‑foot operations facility to complement the 385,000‑square‑foot Equipment Processing Center just a mile away.
The role is full‑time, exempt (not overtime eligible), and 100% onsite.
Location: Tacoma, WA 98421
Pay Range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually with monthly car allowance
Travel: Some out‑of‑state and overnight travel may be required
As a Senior HR Generalist, you will partner closely with Tacoma operations leadership to provide practical HR guidance, ensure compliance, and promote a positive, respectful workplace culture. You will support the warehouse and hourly workforce, balancing policy with common sense, and will serve as a trusted partner to both employees and supervisors.
Responsibilities- Employee Relations & Leadership Support
- Serve as a trusted HR partner for employees and supervisors across Aertssen locations.
- Provide guidance on workplace issues, policy interpretation, attendance, and conduct.
- Support performance management coaching conversations, corrective actions, and investigations.
- Promote consistent HR practices while recognizing site‑specific operational needs.
- Recruitment & Onboarding (Warehouse‑Heavy Focus)
- Support full‑cycle recruiting for hourly warehouse roles, supervisors, and salaried positions.
- Coordinate interviews, offers, background checks, drug screens, and onboarding requirements.
- Lead or support new hire orientation and onboarding.
- HR Compliance & Administration
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, state leave laws, etc.).
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data across the organization.
- Assist with policy updates, handbook administration, and employee communications.
- Process payroll for temporary and regular employees ensuring timely and accurate records.
- Benefits & Leave Support
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment changes and general questions.
- Support leave of absence administration including FMLA, medical, personal, and state‑specific leaves.
- Partner with payroll and benefits vendors to resolve employee issues.
- Multi‑Site HR Support & Projects
- Travel between warehouse locations as needed to support employees and leaders.
- Assist with HR audits, reporting, and compliance tracking.
- Support safety initiatives and partner with operations on training and engagement efforts.
- Participate in HR projects focused on retention, consistency, and employee experience.
Required:
- 35 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
- Experience supporting hourly and warehouse‑based work forces.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Ability to work comfortably in an operational fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship‑building skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- SHRM‑CP, PHR, or similar HR certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Multi‑site, multi‑state HR support experience.
- Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually (exempt, not overtime eligible).
