The Supervisor of Insurance Verification/Authorizations is responsible for supervising staff accountable for identifying and securing financial resources for healthcare services system wide that require authorizations, insurance verification, and precertification services. The Supervisor is expected to understand referral management/processing as a foundation to the more complex authorization process, and to be accountable for ensuring the highest levels of quality for all authorizations, insurance verifications, performance levels, and efficiency standards implemented and maintained.
The role requires creating and implementing industry best practices and workflows system wide to minimize payment denials and increase patient experience, researching and analyzing denied services, and training and developing frontline staff to successfully perform their duties to meet department‑specific and Multi Care goals.
- Direct supervision and management of daily operations and staff responsible for financial clearance and authorization activity for the Multi Care Health System.
- Attend and participate in meetings related to business operation improvements of referral and authorization management.
- Engage in routine conversations with payor representatives to streamline authorization and reimbursement practices.
- Collaborate with system leaders, clinical teams, and providers to create and maintain highly effective and accurate referral and authorization processes.
- Denial management and prevention.
- Model and cultivate staff behaviors that achieve business success, including leadership skills, collaboration, accountability, and ownership.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Five (5) years of experience in Access Services, Pre‑Service, Referral Management, Scheduling, Prior Authorizations, and/or Registration required.
- Three (3) years of supervisory and/or lead and/or training experience.
- Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications.

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $69,039.00 - $99,329.00 USD. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
