Clinical Psychologist, Joint Base Lewis McChord, Tacoma, WA

This position will be located in the Department of Preventive Medicine, Traumatic Brain Injury Center, at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA.

Madigan Army Medical Center is seeking Clinical Psychologists for the Embedded Behavioral Health Clinics on Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). This clinic model is an early intervention and treatment structure of Behavioral Health that promotes Soldier readiness. It provides multidisciplinary Behavioral Health care to Soldier in close proximity to their unit's work area and in close coordination with unit leaders. Duties include conducting psychological assessments of active duty service members with a wide variety of psychological disorders that affect intellectual, cognitive, behavioral or emotional function, providing individual and group therapy, psycho educational sessions, and psychotherapeutic interventions.

Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest on the Puget Sound, in Washington State, JBLM is near the city of Lakewood, 10 minutes from Tacoma and 20 minutes from Olympia, the state capitol. JBLM is situated in a key location along Interstate 5, allowing easy access to Seattle, Tacoma, and the welcoming neighboring communities. Although the Army and Air Force missions have changed over the years, one thing has not changed—the natural setting of the base.

• Professional Clinical Psychologist for Traumatic Brain Injury Program for Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) and Western Regional Medical Command.
• Provide psychological screening and assessment (clinical interview, assessment, scoring, interpretation, report writing) with a broad range of active-duty service members and eligible retirees and dependents.
• As advisor and consultant, assists in developing, implementing and managing the TBI Program for the psychological assessment of behavioral effects of central nervous system (CNS) dysfunction.
• Provide professional consultation and liaison to other medical departments within MAMC and Western Region Medical Center regarding the identification and diagnosis of TBI and complex neurobehavioral cases.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of specialized professional literature and scientific findings.
