Pharmacy Technician – CVS Health

Responsibilities
  • Follow all company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation.
  • Assist pharmacists and ensure safe, accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Provide outstanding patient service by showing empathy, offering immunizations and other services, and resolving patient issues.
  • Perform inventory activities such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and bin inventories.
  • Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand clinical knowledge.
  • Maintain flexibility for scheduling and travel to other stores as needed.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies related to patient safety and privacy.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, etc.) where allowable by law.
Immunization Support (if applicable)
  • Complete licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
  • Educate patients about vaccines and refer questions to the pharmacist on duty.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions and report events per public health requirements.
  • Collect and track patient information for vaccine documentation.
  • Manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Meet state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • At least 16 years of age if no state requirement.
  • High school diploma, equivalent, or active enrollment if no state requirement.
  • State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state;  to learn more.
Essential Functions
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
  • Demonstrate attention and focus: concentrate, pivot quickly, and ensure prescription accuracy.
  • Provide customer service and team orientation: friendly assistance, read patient cues, and respond appropriately.
  • Use effective communication: verbal, written, active listening, and clear instructions.
  • Apply mathematical reasoning: calculate dosage, supply, and bottle needs.
  • Resolve problems by identifying options and choosing the best course.
  • Meet physical demands: mobile, lift, reach, bend, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work at the home store and other market locations as business needs arise.

  • This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade into which this position falls. Actual offers may vary based on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
