Ultrasound / Sonography, Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
Franciscan Medical Group, part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a full‑time Vascular Technologist for our Franciscan Vascular Associates in Tacoma, WA. This position is in a busy, fast‑paced office within a growing vascular service line that includes 26 technologists, five variable surgeons, one vascular medicine physician, and one ARNP. No weekends or holidays are required. The role involves performing non‑invasive vascular diagnostic examinations to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities in arteries and veins.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare patients and operate specialized ultrasound equipment to capture high‑quality images, documenting findings for physician interpretation.
- Record patient history, explain procedures, allay concerns, and elicit cooperation.
- Maintain examination equipment, calibrate and perform routine maintenance, and report malfunctions.
- Set technical factors and use appropriate techniques to obtain the highest quality images.
- Apply gel to the target area and manipulate the transducer to image blood vessels and assess flow; select and photograph images for physician review.
- Deliver patient care for all age groups while performing vascular examinations.
- Completion of a training program accredited by the AMA‑CAHEA for vascular ultrasound upon hire and attainment of Registered Vascular Technologist status within 12 months.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA‑BLS) – CPR certification.
- One year of post‑graduate experience in vascular ultrasound and/or demonstrated proficiency and acuity in diagnostics or ultrasound.

Pay Range: $48.77 – $71.41 per hour
