Overview
Medical Office Administrator role at Hanger, Inc. in Mercer Island, WA. Provides the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow employees and referral sources through coordination and administration of front office activities. Accurately obtain all patient information and insurance information while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and Company policies. Maintain excellent customer service relationships with patients and referral sources.
Your Impact- Ensure the highest level of customer service is provided to patients, fellow employees, and referral sources.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient files, ensuring compliance with Hanger Policies.
- Ensure the privacy and security of protected health information per HIPAA rules.
- Assist with patient follow-up as directed.
- Assist with quality assurance to ensure patient satisfaction with Patient Care Center (PCC) services as necessary.
- Enter patient demographics and insurance verifications as appropriate.
- Efficiently manage multiple phone lines.
- Record written documentation that is clear, concise, and accurate.
- File all patient charts and other documentation, following established guidelines.
- Coordinate scheduling of practitioner schedules to ensure proper coverage of patient appointments and out-of-office calls.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Less than one year of customer service, administrative or related experience required.
- Experience in a receptionist position or with medical front office procedures preferred.
- Be at minimum a good fit for the job, as determined by Talent Sorter assessment (Hanger will administer the Talent Sorter as part of the selection process).
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined in Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills.
- Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy.
- Ability to work with handicapped individuals.
- Understanding of Alpha filing system.
- Understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology and front office duties preferred.
- Ability to use a computer, Windows-based software and e-mail; use office equipment (facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, copier, etc.).

- (Washington State Only) Pay range of $20.00-$24.00/hour + bonus + benefits. Salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
