Located in the scenic Puget Sound area with Mount Rainier in the distance, Tacoma is the third largest city in Washington State with a thriving and diverse community of over 200,000 residents. Tacoma Community College (TCC) was built on the ancestral territory of Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Puyallup. The 1854 Medicine Creek Treaty forcibly removed them to the Puyallup Reservation to make way for settlers;

Tacoma Community College is seeking dynamic and student-focused nursing professional to join our exceptional team as a Full-Time Tenure-Track Nursing Professor who will report to the Associate Dean for Nursing. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical experience in critical care and/or emergency department (ED) nursing,a commitment to equity-centered teaching and learning, and a passion for student success. This position offers a competitive salary range of $94,250 to $104,000, that is contingent upon continued funding through the Washington State Legislature’s High Demand Career Field Programs (ESSB 5092, Section 26).

This funding initiative aims to support Washington State community and technical colleges in recruiting and retaining qualified nursing faculty to educate the next generation of nurses for high-demand healthcare careers. As a faculty member, you will play a critical role in preparing students for success in nursing practice, contributing to the profession through teaching excellence, curriculum development, and student mentorship.

As a faculty member in the ADN and NAC/CNA programs, you will serve not only as an educator but also as a mentor, advocate, and role model for a diverse student population. This position offers the opportunity to shape future nurses by teaching in various settings, including the classroom, clinical environments, simulation, and skills labs, while advancing equity and excellence in nursing education.

This position may occasionally be assigned classes to be taught on evenings or weekends. This tenure-track position is expected to start in Fall 2026; however, the option to start teaching earlier may be available depending on the nursing program’s needs.
