Core Leadership & Strategic Oversight- Vision and Planning: Create a vision and plan for the school’s continued growth across undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education opportunities, accountable to annual program assessment and regular academic program review.
- Strategic Alignment: Advocate for the school, ensuring decisions support university priorities and commitments, guaranteeing consistency across business programs and alignment in administrative systems and processes.
- Collaboration and Collegiality: Work collegially and collaboratively with faculty, staff, senior leaders, alumni, and external partners to goals aligned with PLU’s academic mission, fostering integration of liberal arts and major and professional degree curricula.
- External Partnerships: Build and enhance partnerships with industry and community organizations, alumni, and professionals in the South Sound region to strengthen the School of Business’s position as a premier business school, cultivating relationships for internship and employment opportunities.
- Fundraising: Actively participate in fundraising and development activities, cultivating donor and alumni engagement and major gift solicitations.
- Budget Administration: Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and administer the school’s budget, prioritizing resources across campus.
- Curriculum and Programs: Provide leadership for sustainable, diverse, and relevant curricula and undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs, ensuring consistent standards and student-centered scheduling practices.
- Program Revision and Interdisciplinary Focus: Identify opportunities for revising undergraduate and graduate programs and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across other units on campus.
- Accreditation and Governance: Ensure continued AACSB accreditation and accountability to expectations of university and program-specific accreditation requirements.
- Faculty and Staff Development: Support faculty achievement, development, and excellence, encouraging professional growth, teaching excellence, and building relationships with business leaders.
- Personnel Management: Collaborate with the Associate Dean in day-to-day operations and equitable stewarding of personnel, implementing recruitment and retention plans for faculty and staff.
- Evaluation and Advancement: Facilitate timely and comprehensive faculty and staff evaluations, making recommendations for appointments, promotions, salaries, sabbatical, and special leaves.
- Inclusive Implementation: Embed inclusive and reflective practices into all decision-making processes.
- Active Promotion: Lead and serve in ways that support institutional equity and anti-racism.
- Self-Reflection: Engage in continuous professional development and self-reflection around issues of identity, difference, power, and leadership.
