Youth Program Volunteer Assistant
Support local youth and gain experience in education or social services!
Location: Tacoma Rescue Mission - Family Campus
Schedule: Tuesdays or Thursdays, 4:30-7:30 PM (September-June)
Commitment: Once a week for 6-week sessions (recurring options available)
Age Requirement: 16+

!
We're seeking reliable and caring individuals to support our evening youth programming for children aged six and above. As an assistant, you'll work directly with our volunteer instructors and staff to help facilitate fun, skill-building activities, such as art, music, STEM, sports, and more!
You won't need to lead the class yourself, but your help in setting up, engaging with the kids, and encouraging participation is essential to making each session successful.
Responsibilities- Assist the lead instructor during a 20-30 minute lesson or activity
- Help with setup and cleanup of materials and space
- Encourage and engage youth participants during the session
- Foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment
- High school or college students (16+) looking for volunteer hours
- Adults interested in youth work, education, or social services
- Anyone who wants to support young people in a meaningful way
You'll have the opportunity to get to know the outstanding youth at our family shelter and be part of a supportive, mission-driven team. Plus, you'll make a real impact on a child's week!
