BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN – A CAREER WITH PURPOSE (NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)

If you’re looking for a job that actually matters, you’re in the right place. Behavior Technicians provide one-on-one support to neurodivergent students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. You’ll help students build skills, communicate, make progress, and feel safe - and we train you every step of the way.

This isn’t babysitting or classroom assisting. It’s direct special education therapy grounded in empathy, science, and teamwork. We love data, we love creativity, and we fiercely protect the dignity of every student in our care.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (THE REAL VERSION)
  • Teach new skills in bite-sized steps
  • Support emotional + behavioral regulation
  • Lead structured learning activities and play-based teaching
  • Collect simple data on what you observe (we show you how)
  • Communicate with teachers/BCBAs about progress + needs
  • Keep spaces clean, safe, and organized for students
  • Work with a collaborative team that has your back
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE

Our students may not speak, or they may speak too much. They may learn differently, communicate differently, or express frustration differently. You’ll help them build independence through skill development, structure, and patience. It’s one of the few entry-level jobs where your daily work changes the trajectory of another human’s life.

  • Staying calm when others aren’t
  • Finding meaning in small victories
  • Nerding out over behavioral science
  • Protecting kids’ dignity + autonomy
  • Working as part of a mission-driven team

…you will absolutely love this work.

TRAINING & CERTIFICATION (WE INVEST IN YOU)
  • We provide paid, supervised training
  • We support the Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) credential
  • We (can) provide supervised hours for those pursuing BCBA/BCaBA
  • You’ll learn real clinical skills that transfer to psychology, education, therapy, social work, and healthcare
DAYS, HOURS & COMPENSATION
  • No nights, weekends, or holidays
  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Benefits for full-time include medical/dental/vision, life, LTD, and 401(k) with company match
WORK ENVIRONMENT (TRANSPARENT VERSION)

This job involves movement - sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, running, and occasionally assisting with safety procedures for students who may engage in challenging or aggressive behavior. It also involves real-world school and clinic environments: busy, loud, joyful, frustrating, and deeply rewarding.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to pass background check + fingerprinting
  • Ability to complete the 40-hour CBT training (stipend provided)
  • CPR + Food Handler’s card (within 90 days of hire)
BONUS POINTS (NOT REQUIRED)
  • Experience working with kids (paid or unpaid)
  • Experience with neurodivergent individuals
  • Psychology, Education, or related coursework
WHO SHOULD APPLY

This role is ideal for:

  • Future teachers, therapists, counselors, clinicians, behavior analysts
  • People who prefer meaningful work over “just a job”
  • Those who don’t mind movement, data, or the occasional plot twist
  • People who want to join a field that actively needs more good humans
WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY

Just being honest - this job is not a fit for:

  • Individuals uncomfortable with behavioral challenges
  • People who prefer desk jobs with predictability
  • Anyone who cannot maintain professional boundaries
  • Those who cannot remain calm under pressure
OUR CULTURE

Our team values empathy, curiosity, integrity, and a little bit of nerdiness. We laugh, we problem-solve, we collaborate, and we fight for dignity in special education. We believe kids don’t fail programs - programs fail kids - and we intend to do better.

APPLY IF YOU’RE READY TO
  • Change how special education is done
  • Grow clinically + professionally
  • Support students who learn differently
  • Join a team that actually cares
  • Learn skills that matter far beyond this job
