Visiting Assistant Professor - Chemistry - 2 years
University of Puget Sound invites applications for a two-year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Chemistry department to begin Fall term 2026.
Responsibilities- Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in introductory chemistry courses and labs.
- Teaching responsibilities for upper-level lectures and/or labs may be available, dependent on the candidate's expertise and department needs.
- Teaching load: on average 3 units per semester (Fall and Spring).
- Supervision of undergraduate research is encouraged.
- The department has excellent instrumentation and resources; the university supports an active summer research program for undergraduate students.
- It is preferred that candidates have a PhD in Chemistry by the start of appointment and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates.
- Candidates who are close to completing their PhD or Masters level with teaching experience will also be considered.

- Faculty salaries are based on a common salary scale; assistant professor salaries in begin at $73,904 annualized for an assistant professor without a terminal degree in their field in their first year of full-time post-doctoral teaching through $83,262 annualized based on experience.
