Calling all experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistants! Our team is seeking Full Time coverage in Washington! Incumbents must be able to harvest veins and first assist surgeons on all open-heart cases, suturing, and pre/post op surgical care. Assignment Length:
Ongoing!

Duties include but not limited to:

• Pre- and post-op patient evals and treatment;
• First assist in the OR for CABG, valve (including minimally invasive), aortic and aortic arch reconstruction, thoracic and foregut procedures;
  Including robotic-assisted surgeries;
• Endoscopic vein and open radial artery harvesting;
• ICU and step-down care;
• Emergent bedside procedures as needed;
• Daily rounds and discharge summaries;
• Managing urgent clinic visits when the primary surgeon is unavailable;
• Clinic wound checks as needed.

Schedule details:

• Monday – Friday, 3-4 days calls & 1:4 weekend call
• Weekday schedule is typically 7:00am – 3:00pm;
  If on call, the hours for that day would likely be 10-12+ hours
• Weekend call shifts are variable depending on patient census, but generally 6-8+ hours per weekend day. Includes carrying pager for 24 hours

Qualifications:

• Active Washington State Licensure – Preferred, will consider IMLC!
• Active DEA, ACLS and BLS
• Minimum 2
  -3 years of experience in CV/CT Surgery, including EVH and first assist experience. Robotic surgery experience is a must!
