Overview
The City of Tacoma’s Tacoma Venues & Events Department (TVE) is recruiting multiple TVE Guest Services Team positions. TVE manages sports and entertainment venues in Tacoma, including the Tacoma Dome, Greater Tacoma Convention Center, historic theaters, and Cheney Stadium, as well as the Special Events program. TVE emphasizes inclusivity, delivering legendary experiences for everyone, and a collaborative crew that turns possibilities into reality with creativity and innovation.
Note:
non-traditional work hours are required; hours are intermittent or part-time, including weekends and holidays.
- Act as host during events in clubs and premium guest areas.
- Provide general venue and event information on the phone and in person.
- Direct patrons to venues and provide information on available parking in designated areas.
- Provide information on tickets and seating for public events.
- Direct calls to appropriate individuals during regular and/or working hours.
- Welcome and direct on-site visitors and maintain security by following procedures.
- Perform related work as required.

- Must provide availability to work a minimum of 65% of scheduled events each quarter (e.g., July through September).
- Flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Frequent bending, lifting (up to 15–20 pounds), exposure to outdoor elements, and extensive walking/standing.
- Exposure to high-decibel sound may occur; hearing protection is highly recommended.
Ability to read, write and follow basic instructions.
Minimum ExperienceNone
Desired Qualifications- Prior public contact experience is a plus.
- Previous customer service experience on the telephone and in person is preferred.
- Fluency in foreign languages and familiarity with various cultures and abilities is desired.
- Demonstrated familiarity with City, region, venues and events.
- Punctuality and presenting a neat appearance to the public.
- Maintaining a polite demeanor and the ability to work irregular, part-time shifts.
- Learn layout and seating arrangements; understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Meet and greet people in a pleasant manner.
Interested individuals must be willing and available to work non-traditional hours on an intermittent or part-time basis, including weekends and holidays.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Details:
Hourly Rate: $17.23 - $20.94;
Annual Salary: $35,838.40 - $43,555.20
