Legal Assistant 2 - Superior Court Administration
Why It's a Great OpportunityThere are two great opportunities as a Legal Assistant 2 within the Pierce County Superior Court.
- In the Jury Administration office, you will create a warm and welcoming environment for citizens coming in for jury duty. You will help citizens check in for jury duty, understand their role in the court system, group jurors into panels, and field various questions about jury duty.
- In the Criminal Administration office, your primary focus will be to provide legal assistant support to judges, court commissioners, attorneys, and the general public. You will assist the public with their questions about accessing the court and schedule hearings for attorneys and the public based on established best practices. In addition, you will clerk in high volume criminal courtrooms assisting Judges and Commissioners.
You may rotate between office and courtroom functions.

Why It's a Great DepartmentPierce County Superior Court consists of 23 elected Judges, 10 appointed Commissioners, 46 Judicial Department Staff Members and a Court Administrator, Deputy Court Administrator and 33 administrative staff members. Pierce County Superior Court efficiently handles a very high volume of cases. We have built a family atmosphere which allows staff to become subject matter experts and share their experiences and challenges to make constant improvements for staff and the public.

Preferred QualificationsA minimum of six months experience in a legal staff support function preferred.
