Syracuse Youth Council Advisor
Syracuse City is seeking a volunteer Adult Advisor to help launch and support the Syracuse Youth Council. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.
Purpose of the Youth Council The Youth Council provides opportunities for teens to:
- Learn how local government works through hands‑on involvement
- Develop leadership skills and civic responsibility
- Build friendships while completing meaningful service projects
Volunteer Advisor Responsibilities As the Youth Council Advisor, you will:
- Help establish and organize the Syracuse Youth Council
- Provide guidance and mentorship to youth members
- Assist with planning and supporting meetings, service projects, and civic engagement activities
- Coordinate as needed with City staff and community partners
Time Commitment
- Meetings may be held at least once per month on a weeknight in the evening
- Meeting dates and times will be selected by the Youth Council Advisor
- Additional meetings may be scheduled for committees, special projects, or special events as needed
