Immediately Hiring a permanent full-time Diesel Technician Trainee. This role is entry level and does not require experience to be hired. • Hourly Pay: $23.00 per hour
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, weekends off

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Strong technical aptitude with ability to learn equipment/machinery
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Represent Ryder professionally with customers and employees
• Good time management and prioritization
• Track record of performance and good attendance
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office
• Beginner knowledge of machines/tools and shop management systems preferred
• CDL Class A preferred
• DOT safety regulated position; regulated tech
• Safety sensitive position; age/work hours per state law

• Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass Ryder drug test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check (last 3 years)

Important Note: Some positions may require additional screening including employment/education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer-specific requirements.

• Move heavy duty vehicles, wash and detail, fuel diesel/natural gas/hybrid vehicles safely; record fuel activity and manage inventories; use handheld devices to identify services
• Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units per policy
• Maintain fuel island area and assist with facility maintenance
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments
• Training includes hands-on and online components covering Service Island, PM, tires, bays, electrical, brakes, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned
