PT Heavy Duty Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Part‑Time Heavy‑Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our fleet of diesel‑powered vehicles, including heavy trucks and other machinery used in waste hauling. This role requires deep knowledge of diesel engines, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.

• Conduct regular maintenance and diagnostic tests on diesel engines and mechanical components.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
• Perform in‑depth services and repairs on hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmissions.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, and brake and fuel systems.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure adherence to safety practices and compliance with regulations.
• Use hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools like pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
• Assist in ordering parts and inventory management.

• Proven experience as a heavy‑duty diesel mechanic.
• Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and the maintenance and repair of heavy trucks.
• Technical certification or degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must possess a full set of personal tools for vehicle and equipment repairs.
• Physical ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.

• This part‑time position requires flexibility. Working hours and shifts may vary, with the potential for weekend and evening shifts depending on business needs.
