Join Carrier as a Lead Maintenance Electrician and play a key role in performing complex technical tasks that support engineering projects. Under minimal supervision, you will maintain and upgrade electrical systems, troubleshoot components, and coordinate repairs to ensure smooth operations across our HVAC Commercial Engineering campus. Your expertise will help minimize downtime, support unique test applications, and uphold the highest safety standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Lead
Maintenance Electrician will provide Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) & Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) support to the HVAC Commercial Engineering team in Syracuse, NY.
Specific
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and upgrade electrical equipment and wiring to support LCML (Light Commercial) test lab efforts.
- Troubleshoot electrical components and controls.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs with lab technicians, engineers and management to minimize testing downtime.
- Modify equipment as needed for unique test applications.
- Moderate to complex electrical troubleshooting & problem solving.
- Installation of equipment to support psychrometric testing and capital upgrades.
- Associate Degree / Technical/Business School Certificate / or Diploma, Electrical Trades Apprenticeship.
- +10 years experience as an electrician in the commercial or the industrial field.
Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
- Able to lead electrical maintenance efforts and operate independently.
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution, associated components, low voltage control, ability to read schematics and troubleshooting components.
- Ability to communicate effectively and comply with all EH&S Procedures
- Intermediate skills level with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Power industrial trucks, scissor & aerial lifts, crane and rigging.
